Fulham are on the hunt for a new manager following the departure of Marco Silva.

Speculation concerning Silva's future had been mounting with his contract at Craven Cottage set to expire this month. The Portuguese coach had been offered fresh terms but refrained from committing his future to the club beyond this summer, and his departure was announced at the start of June.

Silva is now on the verge of being named Jose Mourinho's successor at Benfica, after the 'Special One' departed the Estadio da Luz to become the new head coach of Real Madrid on a three-year contract.

Fulham finished 11th in the Premier League last season and the Cottagers hierarchy will be looking for a new manager who they hope will build on the strong foundations Silva established during his productive five-year stint in west London.

The Northern Irishman is regarded as one of the brightest young coaches in English football after guiding Ipswich from League One into the Premier League.

Although the Tractor Boys' stay in the top-flight was brief, McKenna orchestrated Ipswich's immediate return to the Premier League by finishing second in the Championship last season.

Former Tottenham Hotspur coach Thomas Frank was among the frontrunners for the Fulham vacancy but the Dane has since distanced himself from the job, insisting he will not rush his return to management amid links to multiple jobs.

Arne Slot was another to rule himself out of the running as the Dutchman takes some time out of the game following his Liverpool dismissal.
