Next Fulham Manager Contenders

We take a look at the contenders to be the next manager of Fulham as they continue to search for a replacement for Marco Silva.

Silva left his position at Craven Cottage at the start of June following a successful five-year reign at the club.

The 48-year-old led Fulham to promotion from the Championship in his first season before providing stability in the Premier League.

He has since been named as the new Benfica manager and Fulham have taken their time to ensure that they get the right manager to take the club forward.

Here are our top five contenders to be the next Fulham manager.

Next Fulham Manager Contenders

Alvaro Arbeloa

Alvaro Arbeloa has emerged as a leading contender to be the next Fulham manager.

He has reportedly held talks with the club's hierarchy and is believed to be on a small shortlist for the position.

Arbeloa was the interim manager of Real Madrid before leaving the club at the end of season prior to Jose Mourinho's arrival.

Frank Lampard

Coventry City manager Frank Lampard led the club to Championship title last season.

Whilst he is busy preparing for life in the Premier League, rumours of his potential departure will not go away.

Lampard was heavily linked with a move to Crystal Palace and he is believed to be on Fulham's radar too.

Thomas Frank

After being dismissed by Tottenham Hotspur in February after just eight months in charge, Thomas Frank will be out to prove people wrong in his next role.

Despite his time in North London, Frank remains an attractive proposition for Premier League owners following his seven-year stint as Brentford manager.

The Danish manager would provide Premier League experience but he may look to take his time before deciding on his next move.

Kjetil Knutsen

The Norwegian manager has done a brilliant job during his eight-year spell as Bodo/Glimt manager.

As well as winning four domestic league titles, Knutsen led Bodo/Glimt to the last four of the UEFA Europa League in the 2024/25 campaign.

He also guided the club into the Last 16 of the UEFA Champions League last season and it should only be a matter of time before he secures a move to a big league.

Lee Carsley

England Under 21s manager Lee Carsley has been linked with a move to a number of different teams in recent months.

With Thomas Tuchel signing a new contract with England until the end of Euro 2028, Carsley may be tempted to make the move into club management.

As a two-time European Under 21 Championship winner with England, Carsley has forged a strong coaching reputation and has won plenty of admirers.
