Betting has been suspended on the England manager market after reports Thomas Tuchel has agreed to become the new Three Lions boss.
bet365's Sports and Trading expert Steve Freeth said: "There was plenty of support for Pep Guardiola after reports linking him with the job on Sunday night.
"But once news of Tuchel - who was as big as 50/1 at the beginning of October - being in talks with the FA had broken it was all hands to the pump with punters gobbling up the 6/4 before he was slashed into 2/7 ahead of the market being suspended on Tuesday evening."
Carsley was given the role on an interim basis and he guided the Three Lions to successive wins over the Republic of Ireland and Finland in his first two games in charge, but his hopes of landing the job permanently were dashed after a 2-1 defeat to Greece at Wembley.
England did bounce back by beating Finland 3-1 away from home, but Carsley's post-match press conference again raised questions on whether he wants the job beyond his interim tenure and it now looks like the FA have their man.
