Miami Heat v Los Angeles Lakers: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Marquee sides Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers are struggling for consistency and will be hoping to put recent losses behind them when they face off at the Kaseya Center.

Miami Heat v Los Angeles Lakers prop bets - tips and predictions

LA Lakers money line -10/13

The Heat (9-10) welcome the Lakers (12-9) to Florida for a match-up between two teams sitting outside of the top six in their respective Conferences.

Inconsistency has been the buzzword in both camps with the Heat already rumoured to be looking at a player trade to boost their chances in a stacked east.

Right now, they are struggling more than the Lakers with three losses in their last five, including the last two - narrowly at Toronto, but heavily at Boston.

They should be pleased to be back on home court, but they are only 4-4 at the Kaseya Center and could have personnel issues.

Nikola Jovic is out and Jimmy Butler looks unlikely to be involved for a sixth match after a knee injury stopped him suiting up in the 108-89 drubbing by the Celtics.

Minus Butler and with Bam Adebayo failing to hit the scoring heights of previous years, the Heat are far less potent and it all points to the Lakers looking a spot of money line value.

LeBron James, back at the franchise he led to two rings over a decade ago, is continuing to produce big plays and big moments, defying a body clock which tells us he will be 40 later this month.

He looks fit and refuses to sit out games, so even though this is part three of a four-game, six-night road trip, expect him to suit up and continue to produce the type of levels which are seeing him average 22 points, 8 rebounds and 9.1 assists.

Alongside Anthony Davis (27.8 in scoring and 11.5 rebounds) they boast a superstar duo working well in tandem and that's why they will always carry a threat.

The Lakers were thumped 108-90 by the Timberwolves on Monday night, the sort of result no one saw coming and plays to the inconsistent narrative.

When they click they are a force, when they don't…well, go check out Monday night's reel.

Suitably admonished, expect much better things at a court where King James once reigned.

Haywood Highsmith over 3.5 rebounds - 20/27

Haywood Highsmith has pulled down four rebounds in each of his last three starts and can match that against the Lakers.

The Heat, bottom-five ranked in field goal percentage, offer up plenty of second grabs at the offensive end, while the Lakers record in threes isn't the best.

Forward Highsmith is getting the minutes, has upped his rebounding average to 3.1 over the last week and can maintain his current level of consistency.

LeBron James under 1.5 threes made - 20/21

LeBron James will hope to shine at a court he made his own over a decade back, but expect him to be doing his best work in the paint rather than downtown.

James is averaging 22 points this season, but heads for Florida on the back of a four-for-16 shooting night in Minneapolis where he managed just 10 points against the Wolves.

The four-time NBA champion missed all four attempts from three-point range and that follows an 0-from-9 return from distance at Utah the night before.

In fact he has not scored with any of his last 19 three-point attempts, so there's no obvious reason to think he will get more than one - if any - at Miami.
