We take a look at the longest regular season winning streaks in NBA history, with the record currently held by the 1971/72 Los Angeles Lakers.
Having gone 6-3 through the first month of the season, the Lakers embarked on a sensational run of form which saw them win 14 straight through November and 16 straight through December.
They opened 1971 with a further three victories before their record-breaking run was ended by the Milwaukee Bucks, the team who had set the longest winning streak record a season prior with 20 successive wins.
Since then, no other team has really threatened to go close in the regular season, with Miami Heat ranking second in the charts by posting 27 consecutive wins in the 2012/13 campaign.
Only five teams have ever reached the milestone of 20 successive wins, including the 2015/16 Golden State Warriors and 2007/08 Houston Rockets. Coincidentally, both of those sides failed to win the championship in those respective seasons.
