Indiana Pacers v San Antonio Spurs prop bets - tips and predictions

Indiana Pacers Over 116.5 - 20/23

Indiana’s offense has been good this season and has gotten better into the New Year and they should be confident of scoring over 116.5 points.

Pascal Siakam is averaging 20.1 points this season, but 21.1 over the last 10 games. Tyrese Haliburton has upped his season's average of 17.9 to 18.2 since Christmas.

Center Myles Turner is averaging 15.5 points per game this season. Over the last 10 matches, however, he has been averaging 17.3.

Indiana's starting five has turned on the taps recently and even allowing for the impact Victor Wembanyama is likely to have against the Pacers' pressure offense, Indiana can still post a big number.

Indiana are averaging 117.4 points per game over the last 10.

Indiana are notionally the home team in Paris on Thursday night but it's clear who the thousands of fans at the Accor Arena will be cheering on.

Wembanyama, born in the Paris suburbs and arguably the greatest basketball star France has ever produced, is back home for an unmissable double header against Indiana. The second game is on Saturday.

Wemby, being Wemby, will turn on the style in front of his adoring fans and post an array of big numbers, as is his style.

The problem is his team around him aren't quite so reliable, are on a pretty dismal streak and the Pacers really should have the measure of them.

The 19-22 Spurs are 2-6 since the turn of the year; the Pacers (24-19) are 8-1 since 2024 handed over to '25 and sit fifth in the Eastern Conference.

On their current 9-2 run they have won in both Boston and Cleveland so are more than capable of shrugging off a bit of pro-Wemby hostility.

The Pacers are led by a pair of NBA All-Stars in Pascal Siakam (20.1ppg, 7.3rpg) and Tyrese Haliburton (17.9ppg, 8.8 apg), though this is turning into a team.

Their starting five of Haliburton, Siakam, Matherin, Nembhard and Turner have inspired an incredible upturn at both ends of the court.

Get this. They have an offensive rating of 114.0 this season, and a defensive rating of 113.6. Since the start of January alone - that's eight matches - their offensive rating is 119.2, their defensive rating 107.4.

Big scoring numbers are not unusual with the Pacers but it's the defensive upturn which is so impressive.

Wembanyama is ideally built to disrupt Indiana's aggressive approach at the rim, but if that improved Pacers' defense can keep the French hero relatively quiet, then the 'home' team should win this and cover a 3.5-point spread.
