Cleveland Cavaliers v Toronto Raptors: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Cleveland Cavaliers are the heavy favourites to chalk up another win when they welcome the Toronto Raptors to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse early on Friday.

Cleveland Cavaliers v Toronto Raptors prop bets - tips and predictions

Donovan Mitchell Over 29.5 Points, Assists & Rebounds - 5/6

Donovan Mitchell had a quiet night against Oklahoma City, with 11 points and four assists.

However, one of the best guards in the league should much prefer going up against this Raptors' defence, currently the most porous in the league.

Mitchell is averaging 22.9 points per game, 21.9 at home and 4.4 rebounds and 4.6 assists.

Last time out against Toronto, he had 26 points, one assist and four rebounds and his points, assists and rebounds total looks short at 29.5.

Jakob Poeltl Over 22.5 Points, Assists & Rebounds - 10/11

Giant Austrian center Jakob Poeltl is having a fine season shooting and inevitably collects his share of rebounds.

And even in a losing cause the Raptors giant can clear 22.5 points, assists and rebounds.

Just a week ago Poeltl was scoring 25 points against Orlando and last time out had 10 rebounds against New York.

He is averaging 15 points, 10.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists and even against a team as complete as the Cavs, Poeltl can still post some respectable numbers.

Cleveland stages a showdown between teams at opposite ends of the Eastern Conference.

The conference-leading Cavaliers are on an 11-0 streak which culminated in ending Oklahoma City's 15-game winning run when they beat the Thunder 129-122 on Wednesday.

The Raptors, meanwhile, head to Ohio on the back of a 112-98 loss to New York which left them nursing an 8-29 record with only the Wizards below them in the standings.

To call it a challenging season for Toronto would be an understatement and with the third worst net rating in the league, it's hard to see a new year turnaround unfolding.

And with a 1-16 road record it's pretty much impossible to see them stunning all-conquering Cleveland at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

The Cavs boast the best offensive rating in the league and have already twice thumped the Raptors this season, winning 136-106 in Toronto in their season-opener on 23rd October and then winning 122-108 on home court on 24th November.

The spread is set at 15.5 points in the third meeting and the worry for Cleveland is the possible comedown following their glorious win over the almost untouchable Thunder. They should still have far too much for Toronto, though a massacre to rival what happened back in October may not be on the cards.

Toronto are averaging 110.7 points per game but their performances have steadily dropped off. They were averaging 116 points per game in October, down to 111.3 in November and since the start of December are registering under 109.

On the road, where they are 0-6 since winning at New Orleans on 27th November, they are averaging 108.

They have failed to reach three figures in three of their last five games and even against the Knicks, when the match-ups looked acceptable, they were well beaten. RJ Barrett has questioned the fight in his side and when those doubts start being aired, it's hard to see where the revival happens.

Toronto are coughing up far too many points - their opponents have scored an average of 128.9 points per game over the last seven, the worst such mark in the NBA in that span - but now they are missing too many shots as well.
