Boston Celtics won their 18th NBA title with a five-game series win over Dallas Mavericks in 2023/24 to become the most successful team in history, moving one clear of the Los Angeles Lakers in the all-time standings.

It was the Celtics' first championship win in 16 years and a deserved reward following a dominant regular season, winning 64 of their 82 matches and losing just four at TD Garden.

Head coach Joe Mazzulla will now look to build a potential dynasty in Boston and the Celtics have tied down key players Jayson Tatum, Derrick White and Sam Hauser to long-term extensions.
