National League North Promotion Odds: Scunthorpe United head the betting

Scunthorpe United are the 10/11 favourites to win promotion from the National League North via the play-offs.

Saved from the brink of collapse in October, the Iron are now in the mix to secure an immediate return to the fifth tier of English football.

Scunthorpe are joined by Brackley Town, Chorley and Boston United in the National League North play-off semi-finals.

Scunthorpe finished the season strongly to guarantee second in the National League North standings, eight points adrift of champions Tamworth, who conceded just 29 goals as they secured a return to the National League for the first time since 2014.

Jimmy Dean's side won seven of their last nine league matches and the Iron are 13/20 favourites to overcome their semi-final opponents, Boston United.

Boston are 6/1 to win promotion after overcoming Alfreton Town on penalties in the play-off eliminator and the Pilgrims held Scunthorpe to a draw in both of their encounters this season.

The other semi-final will see Brackley Town, who have never reached the fifth tier in their 134-year history, entertain Chorley.

Chorley, like Boston, also required penalties in their play-off eliminator as they edged past Curzon Ashton following a goalless draw.

Brackley are 11/4 to seal promotion via the play-offs at Wembley, while Chorley - who have recently been the subject of investment from Boyzone's Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden of Westlife - are 9/2 to be raised back up into the National League for the first time since 2020.

The play-off final will be held at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 4th May.
