MotoGP German Grand Prix: Times, schedule, how to watch, weather and lap record

Round nine of the 2024 MotoGP season takes place in Saxony, Germany, at the Sachsenring.

Jorge Martin comes into the weekend ten points clear of Francesco Bagnaia in the championship, with Marc Marquez sitting ominously 58 points off top heading into a circuit he has excelled at in years gone by.

As usual, TNT Sports and discovery+ will be the host of this weekend's MotoGP action in Germany.

German Grand Prix most wins

Marc Marquez is the rider with the most wins of the German Grand Prix, having won the race eight times, double the amount of Valentino Rossi and Dani Pedrosa who have four apiece.

In terms of manufacturers, Honda's 15 wins leaves them way out in front as the constructor with the most German Grand Prix wins. In second is Yamaha with a measly 4 in comparison.

Sachsenring lap length

The lap length of the Sachsenring is 3.671km (2.281 mi), the circuit contains 13 tricky corners and bends for riders to navigate.

Sachsenring lap record

The MotoGP lap record at the Sachsenring was set in the 2023 race by Johann Zarco. The French rider achieved a time of 1:21.225 on his Ducati Desmodici GP23 on his way to a third-place finish.

German Grand Prix track temperature

The track temperature is set to be quite variable this weekend at the Sachsenring, with Saturday being a hot day sandwiched between two cooler days. Friday and Sunday are expected to see temperatures around 20°C (68°F), while Saturday could see it reach somewhere in the region of 30°C (86°F).

German Grand Prix weather forecast

The Sachsenring is expected to be dry for the majority of the weekend, although the occasional shower is possible.

Friday - Overall, a cloudy day with sunny spells, there is a possibility that there may be some morning drizzle, although it is expected to clear around 10am. Temperatures to reach highs of 19°C (66°F) with lows of 11°C (52°F).

Saturday - Clear skies and sun expected, all day until around 16:00 when a light rain may move in and last the evening. Possible high temperatures of 29°C (84°F) with a low of 14°C (57°F)

Sunday - A sunny say in Saxony, no rain is expected beyond 04:00, with low wind speeds too. High temperatures to reach 22°C (72°F) with a low of 12°C (54°F).
