Most expensive player sales from Brighton

We take a look at Brighton's top 10 most expensive player sales.

• Moises Caicedo - Brighton to Chelsea (€116.00m)

Topping the list is Chelsea's Moises Caicedo, who joined the Blues for €116.00m prior to the start of the 2023/24 season.

The destination of the Ecuadorian international was up in the air for a matter of months, with Chelsea unable to reach Brighton's valuation of the midfielder. Liverpool entered the race, forcing the Blues to pay the fee demanded, becoming Chelsea's second most expensive signing of all time, behind Enzo Fernandez.

• Marc Cucurella - Brighton to Chelsea (€65.30m)

Marc Cucurella is one of three players on this list to have joined Chelsea from Brighton. He made the move for a fee estimated to be €65.30m, becoming Brighton's most expensive player sale at the time.

While it could be argued that his performances weren't living up to the price tag in the opening two seasons, he looks an important part of the project under new manager Enzo Maresca.

• Ben White - Brighton to Arsenal (€58.50m)

Like Caicedo, Ben White was highly rated by a number of clubs, with Arsenal and Leeds the main two.

White impressed in a loan stint at Leeds in the 2019/20 season, but Arsenal's presence in the market was too strong for Leeds to be able to make the signing permanent, eventually joining the Gunners for €58.50m in 2021.

• Alexis Mac Allister - Brighton to Liverpool (€42.00m)

Liverpool were desperately seeking a revamp in midfield as they approached he 2023/24 season, following the departures of Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Fabinho.

The Reds' first signing in that position was Alexis Mac Allister, signing the World Cup winner for €42.00m, a reasonable fee in this current market.

• Yves Bissouma - Brighton to Tottenham (€29.20m)

Yves Bissouma joined Spurs for €29.20m in 2022.

He has impressed since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou in 2023, featuring regularly in a deep-lying midfield role.

• Deniz Undav - Brighton to VfB Stuttgart (€26.70m)

Deniz Undav struggled to break into the first team setup at Brighton, spending the majority of his time out on loan.

He impressed so much on loan at VfB Stuttgart in the 2023/24 season that the German club returned for his services in the summer of 2024, signing the player permanently for €26.70m.

• Leandro Trossard - Brighton to Arsenal (€24.00m)

Leandro Trossard was a consistent source of goals for the Seagulls during his stay between 2019 and 2023.

Mikel Arteta signed the Belgium international for €24.00m, bolstering his attacking options.

• Robert Sanchez - Brighton to Chelsea (€23.00m)

Brighton have been relatively strong in the goalkeeper department in recent years, currently having the option between Jason Steele and the highly rated Bart Verbruggen.

Robert Sanchez left the club in 2023, joining Chelsea for €23.00m to compete for the number one spot.

• Dan Burn - Brighton to Newcastle (€15.00m)

Dan Burn enjoyed a four year spell at Brighton from 2018 to 2022, playing the majority of his minutes at left back.

The versatile defender joined the Magpies in 2022 as one of the first signings under the new owners. He has proved a consistent performer for Eddie Howe, part of a Newcastle team that qualified for the UEFA Champions League in the 2022/23 season.

• Billy Gilmour - Brighton to Napoli (€14.00m)

The most recent player sale on the list is Napoli's Billy Gilmour.

The Scottish international spent two campaigns at Brighton before making the move to Italy. He was joined by his international midfield partner, Scott McTominay.
