• Hernan Crespo (€56.81m)

Lazio's acquisition of Hernan Crespo in 2000 remains the club's all-time most expensive signing, joining from Parma for a then-world transfer record of €56.81m.

Despite suffering from injuries, Crespo was still able to score 48 times in 73 appearances, before moving on to Inter Milan in 2002.

• Gaizka Mendieta (€48.00m)

Gaizka Mendieta was one of the most sought-after players following the conclusion of the 2000/2001 season, eventually earning a €48.00m transfer to Lazio.

He failed to impress in Italy, however, spending two of his three years at the club out on loan at Barcelona and Middlesbrough.

• Juan Sebastian Veron (€30.00m)

Juan Sebastian Veron joined Lazio for €30.00m in 1999, and proved hard to replace following his departure in 2001.

The Argentine central midfielder was the driving force in Lazio's Serie A and Coppa Italia winning campaign in the 1999/2000 season.

• Christian Vieri (€28.41m)

The signing of Christian Vieri was a major coup for Lazio following an impressive 1998 FIFA World Cup campaign, but the Italian would spend just a year at the club before moving to fellow Serie A side Inter Milan.

He netted 14 goals in 28 appearances for Lazio, also contributing to four assists.

• Jaap Stam (€25.75m)

Following three successful years at Manchester United, where he would establish himself as one of the Premier League's standout central defenders, Jaap Stam made the €25.75m move to Lazio in 2001.

Despite spending three years at the club between 2001 and 2004, the Dutchman would win just one trophy with Lazio, clinching the Coppa Italia in the 2003/04 season.

Stefano Fiore left Udinese to sign for Lazio for a €25.00m fee in 2001.

Fiore was a key member of the Lazio squad between 2001 and 2004, integral to their Coppa Italia triumph in the 2003/04 campaign.

• Claudio Lopez (€23.00m)

Claudio Lopez left Valencia to join Lazio in 2000, where he partnered Hernán Crespo in the frontline in the first half of his spell at the club.

While injuries often hindered Lopez's playing time, he remained a relatively consistent source of goals, finding the net on 40 occasions in 144 games.

Vedat Muriqi is the most recent Lazio signing to make the list, moving from Fenerbahce for €21.00m in 2020.

His time at the club did not last long, however, signing for Spanish outfit Mallorca in 2022.

Mauro Zarate impressed in a one-year loan spell for Lazio between 2008 and 2009, so much that the club made it a permanent deal for €20.20m.

The Argentine centre forward didn't quite leave the same impression during his permanent spell at the club, eventually returning to Velez Sarsfield in 2013.
