Most expensive goalkeeper transfers in world football

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who is on loan at Bournemouth for the duration of the 2024/25 season, remains the most expensive goalkeeper in football history.

The €80 million fee paid by Chelsea to Athletic Bilbao in the summer of 2018 is the world record amount paid for a goalkeeper.

Four other current Premier League players feature in the top 10 most expensive goalkeepers, with Alisson, Ederson, Andre Onana and David Raya all attracting large transfer fees.

Georgia and Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili will become the latest Premier League addition to the list in July 2025 when he completes his €30 million transfer to Liverpool.

Italian legend Gianluigi Buffon is the only non-Premier League player in the top five most expensive goalkeepers of all-time, while Jasper Cillessen, former Chelsea stopper Thibaut Courtois and Bayern Munich great Manuel Neuer make the top ten.
