Most combined appearances for Juventus and Chelsea since 1989

We take a look at the players who have made the most combined appearances for Juventus and Chelsea since 1989.

Football

• Juan Cuadrado (329)

Juan Cuadrado tops the list, despite playing just 15 times for Chelsea during his two year spell at the club between 2015 and 2017.

He did, however, make 314 appearances for Juventus, where he would win the Serie A on five separate occasions.

• Alvaro Morata (256)

Alvaro Morata has enjoyed two separate spells at Juventus, spending two years at the club between 2014 and 2016, before returning in 2020 to carry out a two year loan spell.

Morata would score 24 times in 72 appearances for Chelsea, before making the permanent move to Atletico Madrid in 2020.

• Didier Deschamps (204)

Didier Deschamps was a UEFA Champions League winner with Juventus in the 1995/96 campaign, and would go on to make the move to Chelsea in 1999.

He spent just one season at Stamford Bridge, but would win the FA Cup in the 1999/2000 season before his move to Valencia.

Gianluca Vialli (188)

Gianluca Vialli boasted an impressive record whilst representing Juventus, scoring 47 times in 130 appearances.

Making the move to Chelsea in 1996, he would spend three years at Stamford Bridge, before retiring at the club to focus on the role as Chelsea manager following the conclusion of the 1998/99 season.

• Gonzalo Higuain (167)

Gonzalo Higuain, like Morata, failed to hit the ground running in the Premier League, playing just 18 times for Chelsea during his loan spell in 2019.

That said, he was involved in 83 goals in 149 appearances for Juventus, winning the Serie A in three of the four seasons he was at the club.

• Nicolas Anelka (165)

Juventus and Chelsea are two of 12 clubs that Nicolas Anelka represented in his 19 year football career.

While he would play 162 times for Chelsea between 2008 and 2012, he would make just three appearances for the Italian outfit, playing just 47 minutes in a disappointing loan spell in 2013.

• Pierluigi Casiraghi (113)

Pierluigi Casiraghi scored 23 times in 103 appearances for Juventus, before making the move to fellow Italian side Lazio in 1993.

A successful five years at Lazio was followed up by an underwhelming stint at Chelsea, where, like Vialli, he would retire.

• Tiago Mendes (93)

Tiago Mendes spent the first five years of his senior career in Portugal, representing Braga and Benfica, before making the move to Chelsea in 2004. Despite playing 45 times in the 2004/05 season, he would leave the club at the end of the season to join Lyon.

While Mendes represented Juventus for four years between 2007 and 2011, he made only 48 appearances, just three more than his tally for Chelsea.

• Adrian Mutu (75)

Adrian Mutu played just 34 times for Chelsea despite signing for a fee believed to be around the €22.5m mark in 2003.

His spell at Juventus wouldn't last long either, featuring 41 times for the club in the 2003/04 season.

• Denis Zakaria (26)

Denis Zakaria joined Juventus in the 2022 January transfer window and, despite scoring on his debut, he played just 15 times for the club.

He also struggled to find his feet at Chelsea, making 11 appearances for the club in a loan spell during the 2022/23 season.
