Most Arsenal Premier League goals

For a while, the Premier League's second most successful club Arsenal were the longest-lasting challengers to Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United.

Winning titles in 1998, 2002 and memorably going unbeaten in 2004, Arsene Wenger's Gunners captured three league titles in seven years, but haven't lifted the trophy in two decades.

They've pushed Manchester City close the last two seasons and will hope to go one better this time around with the champions stumbling.

With that in mind, we've looked at Arsenal's top Premier League goalscorers.

Arsenal's top 10 Premier League goalscorers

Thierry Henry - 175

Arsenal's greatest ever player and arguably the Premier League's greatest ever player, Thierry Henry is miles clear as the Gunners' top Premier League scorer.

While Arsenal lifted the Premier League without the help of Henry in 1998, it was the Frenchman who was the side's shining light in 2002 and 2004.

Ian Wright - 104

Moving to Arsenal the year before the Premier League's inception, Wright actually had 128 league goals for Arsenal, and in 1997, became the club's record scorer.

A Premier League winner in 1998, Wright's record was eventually taken by Henry in 2005.

Robin van Persie - 96

While Robin van Persie's move to Manchester United may have made him persona non grata in North London, his remarkable goalscoring exploits in 18 months catapulted him up the list of Arsenal's top Premier League scorers.

Signing in 2004, it took Van Persie six years to really find his place at Arsenal, struggling with injury and flitting between playing out wide or up front, but from the start of 2011, the Dutchman became an indispensable member of the side, scoring 48 goals in just over a season and a half.

Dennis Bergkamp - 87

A supremely gifted footballer, Dennis Bergkamp moved to North London in the mid-1990s and would go on to be a crucial part of Arsenal teams for the next decade.

Reaching double figures in each of his first four seasons, Bergkamp's goalscoring exploits made way for the arrival of Henry, with whom the Dutchman struck a potent partnership.

Olivier Giroud - 73

Olivier Giroud signed for the Gunners in 2012 for a fee just shy of £10 million, a price which given the Frenchman’s goal output, can be considered a steal.

The powerful forward was a huge aerial threat for the Gunners and, given his height, was extremely capable with the ball at his feet.

While his move to Chelsea may have slightly diminished his reputation at Arsenal, the 73 Premier League goals he scored for the Gunners will not be forgotten.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - 68

The signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was eagerly anticipated, signing for a then-club-record fee of £56 million.

He certainly justified the high fee paid, scoring 68 times in the Premier League. He also won the Premier League Golden Boot in the 2018/19 season.

Theo Walcott - 65

Moving to Arsenal from Southampton, much was expected of the electrifying Theo Walcott as a young player, and it could be argued that over his decade in North London, he never quite lived up to that potential.

But with nearly 300 Premier League games with Arsenal under his belt, Walcott earns his place in this list with 65 Premier League goals.

Robert Pires - 62

The long hair, held in place by a slender headband, the surgically precise goatee; few players symbolised the shift from boring, boring Arsenal to the French-infused va va voom Arsenal of the early 2000s more than Robert Pires.

Not a traditional winger of blistering pace, Pires was in the playmaking mould. Still able to beat his man with dazzling trickery and power, the Frenchman scored 14 goals in three straight seasons, finishing with 62 in all.

Alexis Sanchez - 60

Arguably one of Arsenal’s most talented players in recent years, Alexis Sanchez makes the list in ninth.

He scored 60 goals for the club, before making a move to Manchester United where he was unable to hit the ground running, scoring just three Premier League goals for the Red Devils.

Alexandre Lacazette - 60

Alexandre Lacazette narrowly sneaks onto this list, just three goals ahead of Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka (51 goals).

The French international spent five years at the club, signing from Lyon for up to £50 million, before re-joining the Ligue 1 side in 2022.
