We analyse the credentials and statistics of Britain's hard-hitting heavyweight star Moses Itauma and Demsey McKean as the pair get set to contest an intriguing showdown on the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk v Tyson Fury 2 this weekend.
This Saturday night Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury will battle it out to determine, once and for all, who is the best of the current heavyweight generation.
On the undercard, Moses Itauma looks to further cement his status as the best prospect in the land of giants when he takes on Demsey McKean.
Itauma has hardly put a foot wrong in his fledgling career, but McKean represents a significant step up in class, and another victory for the Brit would further enhance his repaidly growing credentials.
But he once-beaten McKean will be aiming to prove that this is too much, too soon for the teenager.
Let’s look at the 'Tale of the Tape'...
Moses Itauma | Demsey McKean | |
Age: | 19 | 34 |
Nickname: | N/A | 'The Tower' |
Height: | 6ft 2.5ins | 6ft 6ins |
Reach: | N/A | N/A |
Weight: | Heavyweight | Heavyweight |
Trainer: | Ben Davison | Stephen Ng |
Record: | 10-0 (8 KOs) | 22-1 (14 KOs) |
Last Fight: | Won (TKO) v Mariusz Wach (July 2024) | Lost (TKO) v Filip Hrgovic (August 2023) |
Not many prospects would be facing a 6ft 6ins southpaw, who’s sole defeat came against Filip Hrgovic, in just their 11th fight, but Moses Itauma is not your average prospect.
The 19-year-old first rose to prominence when he turned up to spar Lawrence Okolie, wearing his school uniform, and gave the future two-weight world champion all he could handle.
A gold medal at the Youth World Championships further enhanced his reputation.
In the professional ranks, his combination of speed, power and timing have been too much for opponents to handle, with the usually durable Mariusz Wac being the latest of those to have been dispatched inside a couple of rounds.
With each victory, talk of the teenager breaking Mike Tyson’s record for becoming the youngest heavyweight world champion gets louder.
If he looks the part against McKean, expect the clamour to become deafening.

Demsey McKean is being used as a stepping-stone - a measuring stick.
Can Moses Itauma defeat him quicker, and more convincingly that Filip Hrgovic did just over 12 months ago?
The big Australian will be acutely aware of the part he is supposed to play, but will also know that an upset could be his ticket to the big-time.
‘The Tower’ is well-schooled and busy, but questions remain as to whether he has the power to keep the Englishman at bay.
If McKean is to be successful, it is imperative that he utilises his physical advantages and gets his jab working.
It is a big ask, but he may just be facing the talented prospect at the right time.
