Two of Willie Mullins' stable stars go head-to-head in the Grade 1 this weekend, with the winner likely to move into favouritism for the 2025 Champion Hurdle given the uncertainty around Constitution Hill and whether he will come back at his best.
State Man has won the race in each of the last two years but Lossiemouth, who won the Mares' Hurdle at the 2024 Cheltenham Festival, could showcase her credentials and upset the current favourite.
The record-breaking Irish trainer also has Daddy Long Legs, Winter Dog and Sir Gerhard at his disposal as he targets a record-extending 14th win in the race.
The main challenge to Mullins is likely to come from the Gordon Elliott-trained Brighterdaysahead, who enjoyed Grade 3 success at Down Royal on her return at the start of the month.
