North Queensland general manager Micheal Luck says there is much more to come from the Cowboys following their impressive start to the season.
The Cowboys have surprised many so far in 2022 as they have climbed to third spot on the ladder. Todd Payten’s men are priced at 12/1 to win the NRL grand final.
North Queensland won the premiership in 2015 and then made the grand final again in 2017. It has been a period of transition since then and they picked up just seven wins last season.
They already have eight wins this season and Luck says the hard work is finally starting to pay off.

"What we've had to do is sort of rebuild the foundation of what makes a successful footy side and we knew we had these wonderfully talented young players that have come through our system, we just needed to add some good guys in there and that that will complement their development,” Luck told reporters.
Luck says they are delighted with the progress being made but there is still room to build as they look to get back to challenging for premierships on a regular basis.
"The motivation is to give our club and our community a side to be proud of, and play the sort of footy that the North Queensland public value and want the team to represent,” he added.
"We're not under any illusions that this is the finished product, we've still got a lot of work to do to get the club up to the standard where we believe it can be."
