We take a look at all of the previous winners of the Monte-Carlo Masters in the Open Era.
Initially an event for both genders, the Monte-Carlo Masters has been an annual tournament for professional male players since the women's championship ceased in 1982.
Unsurprisingly the ATP Masters 1000 tournament was dominated by the 'King of Clay', with Rafael Nadal winning 11 titles at the Monte Carlo Country Club, including an astonishing eight consecutive titles between 2005 and 2012. He is the only player in tennis history to win eight consecutive titles at the same tournament.
Nadal reached the final in 2013 but his reign was ended by Novak Djokovic, who is one of 11 players to have won the Monte-Carlo Masters on two more occasions in the Open Era.
The tournament has most recently belonged to Stefanos Tsitsipas, with the Greek sensation triumphant in three of the previous four editions.
