Monday's Sport: Blackburn aim to take derby spoils

There's an intriguing north-west derby in the Championship between Blackburn and Wigan to look forward to on Monday while Keighley Cougars start their campaign in rugby league's second tier against Featherstone Rovers.

In-form Lazio face Hellas Verona in Serie A, while the week's horse racing starts with meetings at Carlisle, Fontwell and Wolverhampton, with all the action available to watch on bet365's Sports Live Streaming service.

Poor form in December and January led to Blackburn slipping out of the play-off places, but a victory against the rock-bottom Latics on Monday would see them reassert their promotion credentials.

Wigan sacked Kolo Toure last month after he failed to win any of his nine games in charge and have appointed former winger Shaun Maloney as their new boss.

Maloney is expected to hand Martin Kelly, Omar Rekik and Danel Sinani their Wigan debuts following their recent loan moves but the Latics are currently available at 4/7 To Be Relegated to the third tier of English football.

Wigan have conceded 49 goals in their 28 league games so far this season - the worst record in the division - so a 3-0 win for Rovers at 16/1 is tempting.

Two victories and two draws in their last four matches have propelled Lazio into top-four contention and they have a great chance of extending their recent fine form by defeating Verona on Monday.

The home side have only won three of their 20 Serie A fixtures so far this season and are in danger of being relegated.

However, Verona have won their last two home matches without conceding a goal, against Cremonese and Lecce, and are 9/1 To Win Monday's match 1-0.

OddsKeighley 10/3, Featherstone 1/5

Keighley stormed to promotion from League One last season by winning all 20 of their games, but they will find it much harder in the Championship.

They could not have wished for a much tougher introduction to life in the higher division as Featherstone finished second last season before being surprisingly beaten by Batley Bulldogs in the play-offs.

It will be Keighley’s first game in the second tier since 2014 and they have strengthened their squad by signing the likes of Luke Gale, Jake Webster and Ben Crooks.

However Featherstone, who are now coached by the former St Helens legend Sean Long, should be too strong for the home side and the visitors can be backed at 1/2 to be the Team To Score First Try.
