Mohamed Salah has been confirmed as the 2024/25 FWA Footballer of the Year.
It's been a remarkable campaign even by Salah's high standards. With two games left, Salah needs four more goals to match his tally of 32 from his debut season, but he's smashed his own records for assists and goal contributions with 18 and 46 respectively.
The Egyptian has actually broken the Premier League's record for goal contributions in a 38-game season, and needs two more to overtake Alan Shearer and Andy Cole's record.
It is the third time Salah has been named FWA Footballer of the Year after 2018 and 2022, and similar to his maiden win, it's likely to be another clean sweep of awards for the 32-year-old.
Liverpool fans rejoiced with the news that Salah has signed a new contract that will keep him at Anfield until 2027, and while he'll likely be on a significant wage and is 33 years old in the summer, the winger has proven beyond all doubt that he's simply irreplaceable.
While his worst seasons in the Premier League have seen him score 18 and 19 goals, he's averaging 22.9 goals per season and isn't showing any signs of slowing down.
While Jurgen Klopp seemed to have taken the Reds as far as he could, Arne Slot has rejuvenated the side. Despite almost no summer activity, the Dutchman identified the side's biggest strengths and maximised them. The transformation of Ryan Gravenberch to a reliable holding midfielder has allowed the side to retain its balance while keeping Salah in dangerous areas of the pitch.
Slot's tactical tweaks have worked to tremendous effect, with Liverpool walking to the title.
Liverpool will already be looking ahead to next season, with Trent Alexander-Arnold in need of replacing, be it via a new signing or promoting Conor Bradley to a first-team role.
There are also a number of areas for the club to address, with a new centre-back, left-back, central midfielder and centre forward all on the club's radar.
