Betting has been suspended on Mohamed Salah staying at Liverpool amidst reports the Egyptian is about to sign a new deal.

With Salah's existing contract due to expire at Liverpool in the summer of 2025, speculation regarding his future has continued to rumble on throughout the 2024/25 campaign.

It's safe to say the Egyptian's form has not been impacted by the uncertainty surrounding his contract status, with Salah enjoying a terrific season as part of a Liverpool side that is set to win the Premier League title under Dutch manager Arne Slot.

Salah's consistent output in front of goal would make him nigh-on impossible for Liverpool to replace, and it appears the Egyptian will be staying after all with The Times' Paul Joyce reporting that an agreement is close.

The sticking point seemed to be Liverpool's reluctance to offer a mega-money, multi-year contract to a player about to turn 33, but the club appear to have finally signed off on the deal.
