Mohamed Salah vows to win more trophies following Liverpool contract extension

Mohamed Salah is hopeful of adding more silverware to his illustrious collection after agreeing a new contract extension that will keep him at Liverpool until 2027.

Following months of transfer speculation and rumours of a potential switch to Saudi Arabia, Salah signalled his intent to stay at Anfield by signing a new two-year deal.

Salah, who is Liverpool's all-time leading Premier League goalscorer with 182 goals in 281 games, has been in breathtaking form this term and a major component in the Reds' title bid.

The Egyptian outlined one of the key reasons behind his decision was due to his faith in the management of Arne Slot to achieve his ambitions, with Salah eager to bask in more team and individual honours.

While a move to Saudi would have been fertile for Salah economically, he still wants to compete at the highest level and the 32-year-old reiterated his belief that champions-elect Liverpool can build on their pending Premier League success in the years to come.

“Of course I’m very excited," Salah told Liverpoolfc.com. "We have a great team now. Before also we had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football.

“It’s great, I had my best years here. I played eight years, hopefully it’s going to be 10. Enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I had the best years in my career.

“I would like to say to [the fans], I am very, very happy to be here. I signed here because I believe we can win a lot of big trophies together. Keep supporting us and we’ll give it our best, and hopefully in the future we’re going to win more trophies.”

With Liverpool tying down Salah and reportedly on the verge of finalising terms with captain Virgil Van Dijk, the building blocks are being assembled for another charge on all fronts in the 2025/26 season.

Slot's outfit were still in the hunt for a quadruple at the start of February when they suffered a shock FA Cup exit at the hands of Plymouth Argyle, and there's no doubt the Reds will be targeting success across the board in the next campaign.

bet365's Sports and Trading expert Steve Freeth said: "At the beginning of February we were 28/1 from 1500/1 about Liverpool being the first club to complete the Quadruple with our liabilities running into telephone numbers before the defeat to Plymouth at a time when key players futures were up in the air.

"With the picture now becoming clearer they'll be ready to go again with the Quad price noticeably shorter for next season."

Liverpool are priced at 400/1 to achieve four trophies in 2025/26.
