El Trafico: LAFC v LA Galaxy Odds

Los Angeles rivals LAFC and LA Galaxy will face off in the early hours of Monday morning, in the derby comically nicknamed 'El Trafico'.

The home side could seal their place in the MLS Cup playoffs with a win at BMO Stadium.

Since Marc Dos Santos' dismissal in September they have found some form and are yet to lose under interim manager Xavi Tamarit, who has put together a side that are tough to beat.

LAFC have conceded the third-fewest goals-per-game in the MLS this campaign, keeping eight clean sheets thus far.

The Black and Gold occupy sixth in the Western Conference, with Galaxy four points below them in eighth.

Visitors LA Galaxy have an uphill task if they are to take three points at their rivals, they haven't won an LA derby since 2024 -- a run stretching three fixtures -- and that is their only win in the last seven iterations of the clash.

Greg Vanney's side have come on strong in the past couple of months. They won just one of their first six league outings, but recovered to lose just twice since the start of Septemberz.

They haven't travelled well though, conceding more than one goal on nine occasions on the road.

Galaxy sit four points above the Western Conference playoff line, and they are just two points from Seattle Sounders in the seventh and final guaranteed first-round post-season place, so a win here would be huge for them.

LAFC v LA Galaxy Odds

Unsurprisingly given their recent dominance of this fixture, LAFC are the odds on favourites to win in the early hours of Monday morning.

LA Galaxy have mustered just two wins in the last ten MLS games against their city rivals.

Denis Bouanga has the fourth highest goals tally in the MLS this season with 17, including six in his last eight in the competition.

While Heung-Min Son's seven league goals is not as prolific as we have seen him in years gone by, there have been regular flashes of his brilliance.

He has burst into life with five goals in his last eight for club and country.

The last time these two sides faced off at BMO Stadium, chaos ensued.

There had been three bookings prior to the 90th minute, when the game became tetchy and an additional four yellows and a red were dished out.

At least one card has been dished out in all of the last ten meetings between these two sides.

Both teams to score is a regular winner in this fixture.

Both teams have scored in nine of the last ten MLS meetings between the two, with the most recent clash being the anomaly and ending 0-3 to LAFC.

Even more incredible is that both teams to score has landed in 15 of the last 17 clashes between LAFC and LA Galaxy in all competitions.
