Millwall are hoping that Caleb Taylor will not be ruled out for the rest of the season after the centre-back suffered a foot injury.
The 23-year-old did not feature in Friday's 1-1 draw away at relegated Leicester City after suffering an untimely knock.
Taylor has become a key part of the Millwall defence as the club looks to seal automatic promotion to the Premier League next weekend.
After missing some key games in February with a foot injury, manager Alex Neil has confirmed that the latest setback is a separate issue and the player will be monitored.
“I didn’t think it was going to be a big issue, but unfortunately it’s a bit worse than what I thought it would be," said Neil.
"We just need to keep an eye on it over the next week or so and see how it goes.”
Millwall entertain Oxford United on the final day of the Championship season, where they will need a victory and results to go their way elsewhere to go up automatically.
The Lions may have to settle for a play-off spot and the potential absence of Taylor would be a significant blow.
Neil will also be waiting to see how striker Josh Coburn recovers after he suffered a hip injury against Leicester.
Coburn has scored nine times for Millwall in the league this season and he was unable to finish the match at the King Power Stadium.
Both players could be vital as the club look to secure Premier League football for the first time.
