Middlesbrough are looking to seal a late loan deal for Rangers midfielder Connor Barron.
Journalist Anthony Joseph has confirmed the news of the late move from the Championship side.
"UPDATE: Rangers midfielder Connor Barron has been given permission to try to seal a loan move to Middlesbrough.
"However, it remains to be seen if the English Championship club can complete the transfer ahead of the 11pm deadline in England.
"Barron has featured in just two European games this season and is among those the Ibrox club are willing to let depart in search for more minutes."
With Barron down the pecking order at Ibrox this season, it makes sense for the player to get some regular first-team football.
Middlesbrough are targeting promotion from the Championship this season and the possible capture of Barron would provide manager Kim Hellberg with another strong option in midfield.
Barron joined Rangers from Aberdeen in the summer of 2024 and he has been a regular part of the first team in the past two seasons.
Both Rangers and Barron have wasted no time after the player has fallen out of favour and the clock is now ticking for Middlesbrough to complete the deal.
