British bare-knuckle boxing star Mick Terrill will receive a hero's welcome when he takes on Kamil Sokolowski at BKB 60.
The promotion announced on Thursday it would make its first trip to Newcastle on 10 October, with Terrill topping a stacked card at the Utilita Arena.
The 43-year-old previously held the BKFC heavyweight title and made a successful return to the Trigon last month, stopping Florian de la Motte in the first round in London.
A North Shields native, Terrill hasn't fought in the Tyne since 2022 and will be looking to put on a show when he faces the experienced Sokolowski.
Victory for Terrill would put him on a collision course with BKB's unbeaten heavyweight champion Gustavo Trujillo and the local favourite insisted he is relishing the opportunity.
"There’s nothing like fighting in front of my own people," Terrill said.
"Newcastle has seen me become a world champion once, in this very arena, and now I get to push closer to my world title shot once again wearing BKB colours.
"Kamil’s tough and durable, but I’m going to give this crowd a knockout they’ll be talking about for years. Once I knock him out, I want my shot at Gustavo for the title."
The card is also set to feature Rolando Dy defending his world super welterweight title against Scott McHugh.
Dy has proven to be a natural in bare-knuckle since making his debut 2022.
The Filipino scored the biggest win of his career to date in back in May as he knocked out two-weight gloved world champion Paulie Malignaggi at BKB Manchester.
Meanwhile former IBF super featherweight king Joseph 'JoJo' Diaz will continue his burgeoning bare-knuckle career on the card against an as-yet unnamed opponent.
