Australia have announced Andrew McDonald as the new coach of their men’s team after he put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal.
Australia are priced at 10/3 to defend their T20 World Cup title later this year and McDonald will now be at the helm after Cricket Australia confirmed the news on Wednesday.
McDonald had been coaching the side on an interim basis following the somewhat controversial departure of Justin Langer after the recent Ashes series win.
Australia have just finished a tour of Pakistan where they won the Test series 1-0. A 2-1 ODI series defeat followed before they finished on a high with a one-off T20 win.

"I am honoured to be given this incredible opportunity for what is an exciting period ahead," McDonald said. "The journey so far has been particularly pleasing," McDonald said.
"My plan is to build on the growth, depth and experience of the squad while working collectively with the group and across the game."
Cricket Australia have been delighted with the job that McDonald has done in a short space of time and believe he is the man to take the baggy greens forward.
"Andrew has already shown he is an outstanding head coach and the vision he outlined for the roles was both impressive and exciting," chief executive Nick Hockley said.
"We are proud of the way the team played and the respect shown throughout the tour of Pakistan under the leadership of Andrew, Pat [Cummins] and Aaron [Finch]."
