Verstappen has been victorious on 53 occasions in the previous four seasons and winning has quite simply become the norm for the Red Bull star.
However, having started the previous season in typically indomitable fashion by winning seven of the first 10 races, Verstappen found successes a rarity from the Austrian Grand Prix onwards, winning only two more races in Brazil and Qatar.
As McLaren and Ferrari went from strength to strength, Red Bull stagnated and as such they slipped to third in the constructors' standings.
They will look to reverse the form heading into 2025 and that will be imperative to Verstappen's title chances, with the Dutchman extracting the maximum from his machinery in order to preserve his championship advantage in 2024.
With a new teammate in Liam Lawson accompanying him, Verstappen will be looking to make a statement to his rivals in the early stages of the 2025 campaign.
