bet365's Steve Freeth said: "Gareth Southgate could easily lead England to Euro 2024 success and carry on to 2026 World Cup qualification with the whole nation behind him.
"However, if there was to be a change after the Euros then a large number of punters seem to think that Mauricio Pochettino could be the person to replace him.
"The odds for Pochettino to be the next permanent England manager have been slashed from 10/1 into 6/4 over the last 24 hours."
Pochettino guided Chelsea to sixth place in the Premier League in his only season at Stamford Bridge, as he eventually galvanised a team that looked set for a bottom-half finish for much of the campaign.
The Argentine also guided Chelsea to the final of the EFL Cup and the semi-finals of the FA Cup during his 12-month tenure.
It is currently unclear whether Gareth Southgate will remain in charge of England after Euro 2024, but Pochettino's style of play and experience of developing young players make him a stand out candidate if a vacancy became available.
