Marc Guehi has shortened into 1/6 to start in England's opening match of Euro 2024 against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen.
The price of the Crystal Palace defender has plummeted following Harry Maguire's omission from Gareth Southgate's final 26-man squad.
A mainstay during Southgate's tenure, Maguire has been out of action since sustaining a calf injury in April and the Manchester United centre back will not be fit to feature in the tournament.
Maguire had started all but three of England's matches in major tournaments since the 2018 World Cup, and while Southgate's persistent selection of the 31-year-old despite his erratic club form has drew criticism, Maguire has consistently silenced his doubters when donning a Three Lions shirt.
Maguire's absence leaves a significant void at the heart of central defence and there are several candidates to partner John Stones.
Guehi is one of five in Southgate's centre back contingent, with Lewis Dunk, Joe Gomez and Ezri Konsa the other options.
Guehi looked unconvincing in England's 3-0 win over Bosnia at St James' Park and was guilty of losing possession cheaply on multiple occasions.
It was only his eighth international start and, probably more importantly, only the second time since the start of February that he's played over an hour of competitive football.
He will have another chance to impress in the friendly against Wembley at Iceland on Friday and if he does, it's expected Guehi will get the nod for his first major tournament appearance.
