Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign striker Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 26-year-old will move to Old Trafford on a five-year deal after the club decided to activate the £62.5 million release clause in Cunha's contract at Wolves.
Cunha completed a medical over the weekend before joining up with Brazil ahead of the upcoming international period.
The Brazil forward joined Wolves from Atletico Madrid in 2023 and scored 31 goals in 76 appearances to become a fans' favourite at Molineux.
He leaves after playing a key role in the club's resurgence in the second half of the season as Wolves comfortably secured their Premier League survival.
Manchester United found goals hard to come by for large parts of the 2024/25 season and manager Ruben Amorim has moved quickly to add some much-needed firepower at the end of the season.
The Red Devils continue to be linked with more attacking options including the likes of Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo and Atalanta striker Mateo Retegui, but their pursuit of Liam Delap looks likely to be an unsuccessful one.
In a club statement on Wolves' official website, Cunha was wished well for his future career in Manchester.
"Everyone at Wolves would like to thank Matheus for his contributions in old gold and wish he and his family the best of luck for the future."
The deal, which is subject to visa approval and registration procedures, will be completed once Cunha returns from international duty.
