Manchester City v Manchester United: Tips, Predictions and Odds

Manchester City will look to maintain their momentum in the Premier League title race when they face arch-rivals Manchester United at the Etihad on Sunday.

Pep Guardiola's side hammered Luton 6-2 in Tuesday's FA Cup fifth-round tie but now their focus is on a crucial run of fixtures in the Premier League.

The champions, chasing a sixth league crown in seven seasons, host derby rivals Manchester United on Sunday before clashes with title rivals Liverpool and Arsenal later in the month.

Guardiola's men are hot favourites to take three points off United, having won this fixture 6-3 last season and beaten the Red Devils 3-0 at Old Trafford in October.

Erik ten Hag's visitors had been in good form in the league until Alex Iwobi's late winner for Fulham at Old Trafford last weekend.

However, in-form striker Rasmus Hojlund has joined a lengthy United injury list and they are 9/1 to hamper City's title charge with a victory at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City v Manchester United betting predictions

Draw-Manchester City Half Time/Full Time @ 10/3

Manchester City raced into a 2-0 lead against Luton on Tuesday as Erling Haaland scored the first two of his five goals inside 18 minutes at Kenilworth Road.

However, City have had to be more patient in their recent home games and Manchester United will be aiming to keep things tight for as long as possible at the Etihad.

The Citizens had to wait until the 71st minute to break the deadlock against Everton on 10th February, when Haaland scored twice in a 2-0 win.

Then came a 1-1 draw with Chelsea in which the champions created bundles of chances but equalised through Rodri only in the 83rd minute.

And Brentford, the most recent visitors to the Etihad, frustrated their hosts until the last 20 minutes when Haaland again made the breakthrough, so the draw-Manchester City selection looks a good bet in the Half-Time/Full-Time market.

Since their 3-0 defeat to City in October's derby at Old Trafford, United have been trailing at half-time in only one of their 16 league matches.

All five of their away defeats this season, at Tottenham, Arsenal, Newcastle, West Ham and Nottingham Forest, have been level at the break and it could be a similar story on Sunday.

Erling Haaland to score 2 or More Goals @ 13/5

Manchester City striker Haaland has taken time to rediscover his sharpness after returning from a foot injury but his ruthless display at Luton was ominous for United's defenders.

The Norwegian superstar scored with five of his seven shots against the Hatters, all of which were on target, and he should be backed to claim two or more goals in the derby.

Haaland scored a hat-trick in this fixture last season, also bagging a brace in this term's win at Old Trafford, and he notched both goals in last month's home victory over Everton.

He had a frustrating game against Chelsea on 17th February, racking up nine attempts at goal without reward, but he should be full of confidence after his midweek haul against the Hatters.

Alejandro Garnacho Anytime Goalscorer @ 11/2

Manchester United have not had much luck with injuries this season and the absence of striker Rasmus Hojlund is a major blow for the Red Devils.

The Dane had been in excellent form, scoring seven goals in his last six games, and fellow youngster Alejandro Garnacho looks the most likely United forward to trouble City on Sunday.

The winger scored a brilliant overhead kick in November's win at Everton and notched twice in the 3-2 home victory over Aston Villa on Boxing Day.

Garnacho scored another brace against West Ham on 4th February and in his three subsequent league outings he has mustered six shots in the away fixture at Villa, eight at Luton and three in last weekend's 2-1 home defeat to Fulham.
