Manchester City have agreed a deal to sign left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri for an estimated €40m fee.
Manchester City’s summer refresh is well and truly underway, and it appears they could be heading into the inaugural edition of the newly-formed Club World Cup with Rayan Ait Nouri at their disposal.
After it was confirmed that the Citizens had opened talks for the left-back last week, a deal has reportedly been agreed between Man City and Wolves.
Fabrizio Romano broke the news via his ‘X’ platform.
Rayan Ait-Nouri to Manchester City, here we go! Agreement club to club done today for total fee close to €40m.
“Understand medical tests will take place on Saturday. The left back accepted City project earlier this week as revealed and medical will take place this weekend.”
The Algerian left-back has reportedly drawn up interest from Premier League sides in recent campaigns, so a Wolves departure seemed a matter of when not if.
An attacking-minded full-back with a unique dribbling ability, Ait-Nouri registered 11 goal contributions in the 2024/25 Premier League term, bettering his previous tally of five.
As for Manchester City, Josko Gvardiol was reverted to his natural central defender position by Pep Guardiola in the latter stages of the campaign, whereby Man City academy graduate Nico O'Reilly was given the opportunity to impress from left-back.
O’Reilly is expected to return back to a central midfield role upon Ait-Nouri’s arrival, but may face fierce competition with Pep Guardiola expected to bolster his options in the middle of the park.
Reports suggest that a verbal agreement in place for Tijjani Reijnders to join Man City, while Lyon’s Rayan Cherki is expected to join the club once a fee can be agreed between the two sides.
Eagerly anticipated times at Manchester City as they look to bounce back from an underwhelming campaign by their remarkably high standards.
