Majborough odds-on to win the Arkle at Cheltenham

The Willie Mullins-trained Majborough is the favourite in our Arkle Chase betting odds ahead of the first day of the Cheltenham Festival.

Mark Walsh will be on board last year's Triumph Hurdle winner as the record-breaking Mullins looks to establish some early dominance for Ireland in the Prestbury Cup.

We were all set for a potential tussle between Majborough and Sir Gino, only for injury to end the Cheltenham chances for the latter.

Nicky Henderson still has Jango Baie at his disposal and Dan Skelton's L'eau Du Sud is clearly a classy customer, but Majborough will almost certainly go off odds-on for the second race on Tuesday.

The December reappearance at Fairyhouse in December was one full of quality but it was his performance at the Dublin Racing Festival that really cemented his Arkle claims.

A nine-length victory in the Irish Arkle sent out a timely warning to connections of any potential Cheltenham rivals that this was a horse that meant business at the top level.
