The date for the 2026 Magic Weekend has been announced as 4th and 5th July, with Everton's Hill-Dickinson Stadium the new venue.
The new Merseyside ground was used for one of the three rugby league Ashes venues, and the sell-out crowd combined with a new city has been enough to persuade the powers that be to return in 2026.
There were doubts as to whether Magic Weekend would even go ahead next season, owing to the expanded fixture list with Super League moving from 12 teams to 14, but a space has been found in the calendar.
Date | Fixture |
4th July | Huddersfield Giants v York Knights |
4th July | Hull KR v Hull FC |
4th July | Leigh Leopards v Warrington Wolves |
5th July | Wakefield Trinity v Castleford Tigers |
5th July | Leeds Rhinos v Bradford Bulls |
5th July | Wigan Warriors v St Helens |
As has been the case in previous years, Magic Weekend will see rival teams face off, though the two French outfits, Catalans Dragons and Toulouse Olympique, will face off in a separate French Magic Weekend at a to-be-confirmed date and venue.
It's the second time Magic Weekend will be held in Liverpool with Anfield the venue in 2019. Since then, Magic Weekend has been held in Newcastle for three years, Leeds in 2024 and Newcastle again in 2025.
Magic Weekend was first held in Cardiff in 2007 and 2008 before moving to Edinburgh in 2009 and 2010. Returning to Cardiff in 2011, Magic Weekend found a new home in 2012 at the Etihad Stadium.
Three years later, Magic moved to Newcastle, held at St James' Park for four years.
The full Super League fixture list will be revealed on Thursday 27th November.
