After being beaten in his first six professional showdowns with Luke Humphries, Dimitri van Den Bergh can take heart from the fact that he has finally ended that barren run of form against the world champion.

The Belgian number one registered a first career success over 'Cool Hand' at a Players Championship event last year, and has since followed that up with a far more impressive 11-10 triumph at the UK Open earlier this year.

Not that van Den Bergh will need reminding, but he will still need to be wary of the threat that the recently crowned World Matchplay champion possesses Down Under.

Humphries cruised to a 6-1 success over Joe Comito in his opening round clash on Friday, averaging just 87 in the process - an almost identical three-figure score as van Den Bergh who saw off Jeremy Fagg by the same scoreline.

Both players will likely lift their game for the quarter-finals stage with Humphries eager to justify his 1/4 match odds, and van Den Bergh desperate to upset the odds and defy his, possibly, over-inflated 3/1 price.
