Luke Donald is one of just four Englishmen to have been number one in golf's world rankings, spending a combined total of 56 weeks at the top of the standings.
The 45-year-old is often mentioned as one of the best players never to win a Major, with Donald unable to turn any of his eight top-ten finishes into a victory at the highest level.
He has played in four Ryder Cups for Europe and won on every occasion - in 2004, 2006, 2010 and 2012 - and will captain the team which takes on the United States at the Marco Simone Country Club in Italy later this year.
Europe are 6/4 to win the 2023 Ryder Cup match outright, with the Tie available at 12/1.

The Englishman’s most successful year came in 2011, when he collected $6.6million in the US and €5.3million in Europe.
Rafa Guerrero is Donald’s current caddie, but he has had several men on his bag over the years.
Dean Elliot, who worked previously with Greg Chalmers and Stephen Ames, is one of those, as are John McLaren and Mick Doran.
Donald’s brother Christian has also caddied for him in the past.
Donald, who spends most of his time on the PGA Tour, plays with a Mizuno ST-Z 230 driver, Mizuno CLK hybrid and Mizuno Pro family irons.
His putter is an Odyssey Works Versa 7H CS and Donald uses a Titleist Pro V1x ball.
The man from Hertfordshire has played for Europe in four Ryder Cups and has finished on the winning team on all four occasions.
Donald made his debut back in 2004, collecting 2.5 points as Europe won 18½-9½ at Oakland Hills in Michigan.
Two years later at the K Club in Ireland, the Englishman won three points - including a singles success over Chad Campbell - in another crushing European victory.
Donald’s next appearance came in 2010 at Celtic Manor, when he was the joint top-points scorer for the Europeans with three - this time beating Jim Furyk in Sunday’s singles.
His last Ryder Cup appearance as a player was in the famous Miracle at Medinah in 2012 when he contributed two points - including a 2&1 singles win over Bubba Watson.
Donald will captain the European team in 2023, when they go head-to-head with the USA at the Marco Simone Country Club in Italy.
