Our resident boxing expert Rob Tebbutt shares his tips for Friday night's WBC bridgerweight title showdown between defending champion Lukasz Rozanski and former cruiserweight king Lawrence Okolie.
So, on Friday night, Lawrence Okolie will seek to become a two-weight world champion when he takes on the unbeaten WBC bridgerweight champion Lukasz Rozanski on away turf.
Last time out we saw Okolie lose his WBO cruiserweight title to Chris Billam-Smith but he is now stepping up a division, to 224lbs, which I expect to work in his advantage this weekend.
Rozanski captured his title with a destructive stoppage success over Alen Babic, but he is now 38 years of age and has never gone beyond four rounds in a professional fight.
Okolie is working with trainer Joe Gallagher now, and I feel he will have to ride out a bit of an early storm this Friday night before taking control of the fight in the middle rounds.
It's been a while since we have seen the British fighter deliver a knockout blow, and we all know the power that he carries in that right hand of his.
I think it's fair to suggest that he was hampered by having to make the cruiserweight limit of 200lbs in the past, but he should come in far bigger, stronger and fresher as he eyes-up another world title.
I do feel that he will win the fight inside the distance, 'By KO, TKO or Disqualification' at 4/6, but I like the look of those middle rounds too - 'Between 5 - 8' - which is priced up at 13/5.
He should be able to lean on Rozanski, tire him out and let his power do the talking as the fight progresses, and I expect him to have too much power for the Pole to handle.
