Lossiemouth 5/1 to win 2025 Champion Hurdle after winning Mares' Hurdle

We have priced up Lossiemouth at 6/1 to win the 2025 Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival after her victory in the Mares' Hurdle on Tuesday afternoon.

Willie Mullins secured his 97th Cheltenham Festival winner following previous victories on the opening day with Gaelic Warrior in the Arkle Chase and State Man in the Champion Hurdle.

There will have been a temptation to target the Champion Hurdle with Lossiemouth this year following Constitution's Hill withdrawal, but the decision to opt for the Mares' Hurdle was a shrewd one after Mullins had the winner in both races.

It was also a third winner on Tuesday for Paul Townend, who is already looking a safe bet to be the top jockey at this year's Festival.

Lossiemouth was first home in the 2m 3f race, ahead of Telmesomethinggirl in second and 40/1 shot Hispanic Moon, who ran a great race to finish third.

The 2025 Champion Hurdle is already shaping nicely, with State Man primed for an attempt at securing back-to-back wins, while Constitution Hill, if hurdles remain the focus next season, will no doubt be the one to beat providing there are no fitness cocnerns.

Slade Steel and Mystical Power also have odds for next year's race after finishing first and second in the Cheltenham curtain-raiser, the Supreme Novices' Hurdle.

Any odds displayed are subject to fluctuation.
