Lossiemouth is 2/1 to retain her Mares' Hurdle crown for a third successive year in 2026 after proving to be a class above the rest of the field in this year's renewal at Cheltenham.
Lossiemouth, ridden by Paul Townend, smoothly passed Jade De Grugy before the final hurdle and kicked away down the home straight to go back-to-back in the Mares' Hurdle.
She now joins illustrious company in Honeysuckle and Quevega as a multiple winner of the race.
There had been calls for Lossiemouth to run in the Champion Hurdle and that debate will likely rage on as she retained her crown at a canter.
Referencing that decision after the race, trainer Willie Mullins said: “Maybe I’m disappointed she’s not in the Champion Hurdle, but we have State Man there, and we’re here to get winners – we’ve done the right thing for [owner] Rich Ricci.”
