Last year's winner Crambo is in the mix to defend his crown but faces stern competition, not least from Stayers' Hurdle contender Strong Leader.
Crambo defeated veterans Paisley Park and Dashel Drasher in 2023's thrilling running but has disappointed since, finishing ninth in the 2024 Stayers' Hurdle at Cheltenham and crossing the line 42 lengths behind Strong Leader in the Liverpool Hurdle.
Emphatic on that day, Olly Murphy's seven-year-old backed up his Aintree success by landing the Grade 2 Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury in November.
A strong Irish contingent travel to Ascot, headlined by The Wallpark, who runs for the first time since being purchased by JP McManus.
He will be accompanied by Hiddenvalley Lake, Haydock winner Shoot First and Eagle Fang, who are all vying to become the first Irish-trained horse to land the Long Walk Hurdle.
Blueking D'oroux returns after finishing fifth in this event last year and will be looking for a stronger running having finished second in November's Ascot Hurdle.
