After debuting in the UFC last year former Cage Warriors star Lone'er Kavanagh has experienced a whirlwind 2026 inside the Octagon.
In February he stepped in on short notice for his first promotional main event, going on to defeat former two-time flyweight king Brandon Moreno to catapult himself up the rankings.
Defeat in a barnburner against perennial contender Brandon Royval back in July has done little to damage his stock and he can move right back into the title picture with a win over Ramazan Temirov on Saturday night.
Temirov has been on a tear since signing with the UFC but MMA expert Adam Catterall insists Kavanagh has what it takes to pull off the spectacular at the Etihad Arena and secure a finish inside the distance.
"This not only is a big platform and a big position on the card, but a big moment in Lone'er Kavanagh's career." Catterall said on bet365 Cageside.
"Can he come through against another prospect? These are the types that you have to win in order to stay relevant at the top of the tree.
"I think we're in for an absolute banger. Both of these guys are elite-level strikers, they both pack the power, the accuracy and the speed to give us something quite sensational.
"I think Lone'er Kavanagh's going to bounce back, and I think he's going to use the confidence and the momentum of Temirov against him.
"I think Temirov is going to fancy knocking Lone'er Kavanagh out and going through him relatively straightforward, and I think that will leave gaps for Lone'er to take care of.
"I'm going to go for a Lone'er Kavanagh finish, I think he just might get it."
