Liverpool ready to test Paris Saint-Germain resolve for Bradley Barcola

Liverpool are reportedly preparing to make an official bid for Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola as the Reds look to complete a blockbuster move for the France international.

Following an eye-catching splurge last summer, Liverpool have so far added Victor Munoz from Osasuna and Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes to Andoni Iraola's ranks for the upcoming season.

There is still a notable void on the right flank following Mohamed Salah's premature departure and Barcola, who is capable of operating on both sides and through the middle, is Liverpool's top target to enhance their attacking options.

PSG have attempted to dissuade any potential Barcola buyers by slapping a £145million price tag on the man they purchased from Lyon for £40m in 2023.

However, it appears Liverpool are now ready to test the resolve of the French champions.

L'Equipe have revealed Barcola and his representatives have verbally agreed to join Liverpool and according to Sky Sports, the Reds are poised to launch an initial offer to try and prise the forward away from the Parc des Princes.

Premier League

Barcola has two years remaining on his PSG contract but is unwilling to discuss an extension as he explores his options away from the French capital.

The 23-year-old had started the previous campaign as the starting left winger, but Enrique eventually preferred an attacking three of Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, with Barcola coming off the bench in both UEFA Champions League semi-final matches against Bayern Munich and the UEFA Champions League final against Arsenal.

Barcola rotated with Doue during France's World Cup campaign, starting four of Les Bleus' eight fixtures, including the semi-final defeat to Spain.

Liverpool had previously targeted RB Leipzig's prodigious winger Yan Diomande, who looks set to join Real Madrid in a deal worth more than £100m.

The Reds also set their sights on Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche, who is the subject of interest from PSG and could have a major impact on the future of Barcola.

Liverpool are not the only Premier League outfit linked with a move for Barcola and Arsenal's interest may be heightened following the news that Vinicius Junior is expected to remain at Real Madrid.
