Prior to the start of the season, Liverpool finishing outside the Premier League top four looked much more likely than them winning the title, but as we enter December, the Reds are odds-on for a record-equalling 20th league crown.
Arsenal were looking to end their 21-year draught while Manchester City were going for a record-extending fifth-straight title, while Liverpool were preparing for life without Jurgen Klopp.
Few Reds fans could have anticipated such a strong start to the season at Anfield, nor the disastrous start to the campaign by City. But with 13 games played, Liverpool are already nine points clear of Arsenal, and 11 clear of City, now priced up at 5/1 to win the title by 10 or more points.
Despite his contract saga ongoing, Mohamed Salah has reasserted himself as the league's best player and has been crucial to Liverpool's form. His worst goalscoring season saw him net 18 last time despite injury and the AFCON interruption and he's already past halfway to that with 10 so far as well as six assists.
bet365's Sports and Trading expert Steve Freeth said: "If you’d have said to me in the summer that by the start of December we’d be betting on a team’s title winning margin it would’ve been a toss-up between Manchester City and Arsenal due to the changing of the guard at Anfield.
"However, such was the mauling of the four-in-a-row champions by Arne Slot’s side, we’ve dusted off the market usually reserved for Pep Guardiola’s charges much later in the season.
"With so many question marks over struggling City, plus Arsenal’s reliance on Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka, the title race could turn into a procession. A side managed by Pep should never be written off, but the sight of him holding up seven fingers at Anfield next season looks unlikely right now!"

City may already be too far back, and there's every chance the gap between themselves and Liverpool is even bigger by Christmas. Pep Guardiola hasn't worked out how to plug the Rodri-shaped hole in midfield, and they still haven't started a Premier League game with both Ruben Dias and Kevin De Bruyne since 14th September.
Any January reinforcements are unlikely to be sufficient, which could leave Liverpool in a two-horse race with Arsenal.
The Gunners themselves have dropped more points than they'd have liked this term, reeling from the injury to Martin Odegaard, but with the Norwegian playmaker fit and firing again, Arsenal are looking back to their best with eight goals in their last two games.
Arsenal's pre-Christmas fixtures see them host Manchester United and Everton with trips to Fulham and Crystal Palace, and it's crucial they don't blink first, with their title rivals facing Newcastle, Everton and Tottenham away as well as Fulham at home heading into the festive period.
