Liverpool 6/5 favourites to win the Premier League after Man City v Arsenal finishes goalless

We have priced up Liverpool as the 6/5 favourites to win the Premier League after the Reds beat Brighton 2-1, while Manchester City and Arsenal couldn't be separated at the Etihad.

The Easter Sunday tussle in Manchester left us no closer to knowing the destination of the Premier League title this season, as Pep Guardiola and his former assistant Mikel Arteta cancelled each other out in an underwhelming encounter.

The home side lacked their usual fluency and creativity in the final third against the Gunners, who will be pleased with a point after they lost twice to the Citizens in the spring of last season.

Manchester City are the second favourites in the title race at 2/1 as they seek to become the first side in the history of English football to win the top flight four years in a row.

Meanwhile Arsenal, who have away games at North London rivals Tottenham and Champions League-chasing Manchester United still to come, are the third favourites to win the league at 5/2.

Following an intriguing day at the top of the Premier League, bet365 football trader Steve Freeth said: "It's now advantage Liverpool with Manchester City stuttering against a top five side once again.

"The Reds could be set to provide a dream sign off for Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool shorten into 6/5".

Liverpool entertained Roberto De Zerbi's Brighton earlier in the day, with the Italian manager continuing to be linked with a place in the home dugout once Jurgen Klopp's tenure at Anfield reaches its conclusion at the end of the season.

The hosts got off to the worst possible start as former Manchester United and Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck fired the Seagulls in front with only two minutes on the clock.

Luis Diaz levelled proceedings before the half hour to restore calm on Merseyside, before the familiar figure of Mohamed Salah popped up with what turned out to be the winning goal in the 65th minute.

The victory meant that Klopp's side could relax ahead of the clash at the Etihad and after a goalless affair, Liverpool are two points ahead of Arsenal and three points ahead of Manchester City with nine Premier League games remaining.
