Sire Du Berlais will be looking to become only the second horse to win the Liverpool Hurdle for a third time at Aintree on Saturday afternoon.
Gordon Elliott's 12-year-old has been victorious in each of the last two years and he could follow in the footsteps of Big Buck's (who went one better and won four) by claiming a Liverpool Hurdle hat-trick this weekend.
However, he is now in the twilight of his career and he faces storm stern opposition in this year's renewal.

Two-time Stayers' Hurdle winner Flooring Porter is arguably the main threat to Sire Du Berlais's bid and he justifies slight favouritism after finishing second to Teahupoo at Cheltenham last month.
Crambo's Long Walk Hurdle success in December was mightily impressive and despite an underwhelming display in the Stayers', Fergal O'Brien's horse possesses exceptional stamina levels and could thrive in the heavier conditions.
Other contenders in the race include King George winner Hewick and Hiddenvalley Lake, whose odds have tumbled after a fine display in the Boyne Hurdle at Navan.
