Liverpool's Federico Chiesa wanted by Milan and Inter

Liverpool forward Federico Chiesa is reportedly set to be the subject of a transfer battle between rivals Milan and Inter in the summer window.

Chiesa was purchased from Juventus for £12.5m and signed a four-year deal but has been used sparingly by Liverpool boss Arne Slot since his arrival in August 2024.

The forward's injury record is well-documented and the start of Chiesa's Liverpool career was blighted with a muscle issue which restricted him to just three appearances in his first three months.

Despite returning from injury at the end of the calendar year, Chiesa has found opportunities at a premium and Premier League starts even harder to come by as the Italian still awaits his first inclusion in Slot's XI in the top-flight.

With the 2026 World Cup on the horizon and Chiesa keen to force his way into Luciano Spalletti's reckoning, a summer switch may be on the agenda if he cannot be assured of regular minutes at Anfield next season.

Italian publication Calciomercato have revealed that Milan are one of the clubs weighing up a move for Chiesa in the summer transfer window.

Milan's new technical director Geoffrey Moncada is understood to be a huge admirer of Chiesa and the Rossoneri are expected to be conducting major surgery on their playing squad over the coming months.

It's also been reported that Milan's city rivals Inter are considering an offer for Chiesa, with the Nerazzurri interested in pursuing a loan move with an option to buy.
