The 2007/08 season was a trophyless one for Liverpool under the stewardship of Rafael Benitez.
The club finished fourth in the Premier League table but they were never really in the title race and they finished 11 points behind champions Manchester United.
They lost in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup to Chelsea, while they bowed out of the FA Cup in the fifth round following a shock home defeat to Barnsley.
They fared better in the UEFA Champions League as they knocked out Inter Milan and Arsenal on their way to semi-finals, before losing to Chelsea in extra-time.
Defender Jamie Carragher played the most matches for Liverpool during the 2007/08 season, making a total of 55 appearances.
Captain Steven Gerrard and goalkeeper Pepe Reina both featured 52 times, while Dutch duo Ryan Babel and Dirk Kuyt complete the top five.
There is also a place in the top ten for the likes of Fernando Torres, Sami Hyypia and John Arne Riise.
