Championship newbies Lincoln City are expected to bolster their goalscoring ranks with the acquisition of former Stockport County hit-man Tanto Olaofe.
The 26-year-old has been on the radar of a plethora of Championship and League One clubs this summer, but it's at Sincil Bank the forward is expected to imminently check-in at.
Blackburn Rovers, Portsmouth, Sheffield Wednesday and Leyton Orient are all understood to have shown interest in the pacy attacker after Charlton Athletic made the former Millwall youth star available for transfer.
However, despite the quartets willingness to do a deal, EFL transfer guru Pete O'Rourke has today claimed that Lincoln are set to win the battle for his signature.
"Understand Lincoln are in advanced talks to sign Charlton forward Tanto Olaofe," he posted on X.
The Imps are seeking reinforcements for Chris Cohen and Tom Shaw's first-team squad, especially after sanctioning star man Jack Moylan's departure to Cardiff City earlier in the week.
Whilst Olaofe hasn't quite hit the same heights he hit for Stockport since transitioning into Championship football, his stock remains high.
He netted 21 times as they won the League Two title in 2024 and followed that up with a 13 goal haul in the third-tier the following campaign.
His form at Edgeley Park promoted Charlton boss Nathan Jones to seal a swoop for the frontman, although he struggled to make a significant impact in South London.
He was given the green light to seal a temporary return to Stockport in January, but only managed to contribute to a solitary goal in his 16 league appearances for the club.
His previous goalscoring credentials hasn't gone unnoticed though, with Lincoln expected to complete the formalities of their move in the coming days.
